THE FIRST
BOTTLE
Anselmo Paternoster, a winegrower from Barile, bottles the first bottles of Aglianico for sale. It is the spontaneous beginning of a family story destined to become a symbol of Vulture.
1945
PINO’S LEGACY
His son Giuseppe “Pino” Paternoster takes the helm. He becomes the territory’s first oenologist—an innovator and tireless ambassador of Aglianico del Vulture in Italy and around the world.

THE BIRTH
OF THE DOC
Pino is among the key players behind the creation of the Aglianico del Vulture DOC—official recognition of a unique winegrowing identity.

DON ANSELMO
BECOMES AN ICON
With the consecration of the Don Anselmo cru, Paternoster enters the circle of Italy’s great auteur-wine interpreters. It is the wine that bears the founder’s name and legacy.
